The 3rd annual Sports and Protection Services Golf Tournament took place last week on a beautiful (and hot) summer day, with the sun shining bright and a nice breeze. It was the perfect weather for a day of golf.
This year, on July 21st 124 golfers took part; from a variety of services and faculties of the university, as well as some Ravens who put their rivalries aside (for the most part) to support a great cause. The tournament raised $3,500.00 this year, and all those funds will be put to good use as they will send underprivileged youth from the Rideau-Vanier (Ward 12) to Gee-Gees Summer Camps. All the funds raised by the tournament each year go towards our Campus Campaign of “Send a kid to Gee-Gee Camps” which has helped to send over 170 kids to the Gee-Gee Summer Camps since 2012.
We would like to thank everyone who participated and volunteered at the tournament, without you it would not have been the tremendous success it was. Stay tuned for an announcement on the date for the 4th annual SPS Golf Tournament, happening at the end of July 2017.
