The UOttawa GeeGees Basketball teams continue their playoffs, NCAA March Madness is just weeks away and the race to the NBA playoffs is starting to heat up. For anyone who’s a basketball fan or just loves playing the game, Sports Services offers you a great opportunity to exercise your passion.
At Montpetit Hall every week Sports Services offers FREE drop-in basketball times open to all members. Participants are free to do as they chose during these times with pickup games and warm up shootarounds seemingly the most popular of activities.
We caught up with Campus Rec participant Jeffrey Anglade (pictured above) while he was finishing his pre-workout warm up on the court and this is what he had to say.
On the normal drop-in basketball atmosphere…
Right now I’m just finishing warming up before I go workout, but normally I like to come with friends and play some pickup games. We have a Facebook group to help organize this stuff and it can be pretty competitive.
On newer players who come to play…
Whenever a new player comes for pickup there’s always a spot for him to play and to make sure our group of players keeps growing it’s made sure that he or she is added to the Facebook group after.
On the type of people who should try Drop-In Basketball
Anybody who likes basketball really. There’s no consequences to giving it a try, if you don’t like it you can just not come back and it’s no issue because it never cost anything.
